Nueva Concepción is a municipality located in the southwestern part of the department of Escuintla, in Guatemala. It was founded in 1865 and has a population of approximately 18,000 people. The main economic activities in the area are agriculture, mainly coffee production, and fishing, as it is located near the Pacific coast. The town is also known for its lively annual celebrations in honor of the town's patron saint, which takes place on December 8th and attracts visitors from neighboring towns. The municipality has a few historic buildings, such as the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Concepción, which dates back to the early 20th century. Nueva Concepción is located at an altitude of 262 meters above sea level and is surrounded by the Santiaguito Volcano and the Atitlán, Zunil and Tecpán mountains.
